HEALTHYTOMATO – Development of tomato disease development risk warning system

The objective of this project is to develop a cost-effective and easy-to-use greenhouse tomato disease risk warning and detection system specifically tailored for small and medium-sized greenhouses. The system aims to help growers identify disease risks early and reduce the spread of infections, without requiring expensive equipment or specialized staff.

The solution combines environmental data from existing greenhouse sensors (such as temperature and humidity), multispectral and RGB imaging (including mobile phone images), and basic manually provided information (e.g. cultivar and greenhouse size). Using this data, the system integrates two complementary AI-based models: one to assess disease development risk and another to detect specific diseases from plant images.
